The Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park was established in 1986 as an area of outstanding natural beauty. With an area of over 2,000 square kilometres, it is the largest protected area in Spain and the second largest in Europe.
It was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1983 and also a Special Protection Area for migratory birds in 1988. The area is home to a wealth of animals, birds, plants and trees. Jaén is the world’s leading producer of olives and olive oil.
A small commercial airport for private jet landing is around 150 kms away. Helicopters can land on the estate.
The nearest small shop for essentials is located in the hamlet of Rio Madera, some 10 minutes away. Segura de la Sierra is a 25 minute drive with shops, good restaurants and a medical clinic.
